Aurora Humanitarian Initiative Charitable Foundation (Aurora Foundation) is committed to protecting your privacy and the security of your personal data. This Privacy Policy informs you of what personal information Aurora Foundation collects from you by means of the website accessible at www.auroraprize.com (the “Website”) and explains how Aurora Foundation uses this information. 
 
Please read this document carefully before starting to use the Website to be aware of the ways in which your personal data may be treated. This Privacy Policy should be read alongside, and in addition to, terms and conditions accessible online (the "Terms"). By submitting your personal data to the Website, you are giving your free consent to its processing in accordance with terms set forth in this Privacy Policy (including as amended from time to time).

Who handles your personal data?
Any personal data gathered from you by means of the Website will be controlled by the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative Charitable Foundation, a non-profit organization whose registered office is at Marshal Baghramyan Ave 6, 0019, Yerevan, Republic of Armenia. Whenever you provide Aurora Foundation with personal information, such information will be processed in line with this Policy and current legislation of the Republic of Armenia (including the Law of the Republic of Armenia on Personal Data adopted on October 8, 2002) and other applicable data protection law. At the same time, being focused on observing requirements established by national legislation, Aurora Foundation will also take into consideration international best practices generally accepted in the field of data protection. 
 
While Aurora Foundation exercises control over the use of your personal data, third parties (“Partners”) may be outsourced to conduct processing of your personal data on behalf of Aurora Foundation. In particular, Partners may store or otherwise use your personal data in order to provide Aurora Foundation with professional website hosting or data management services. However, Partners will be engaged to process your personal data only if they undertake obligations equivalent to those which are assumed by Aurora Foundation pursuant to this Privacy Policy and agree to have in place appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard your personal data. Currently, the primary Partner of Aurora Foundation is A&R Edelman Limited, an international consulting firm whose registered office is at Southside, 105 Victoria Street, SW1E 6QT London, United Kingdom. Further details of Partners involved in processing your personal data may be provided on your request.
 
What types of your personal data are being collected?
Although you can browse through the Website without giving any information about yourself, in some cases, personal information is required in order to facilitate communications between you and Aurora Foundation. This being so, the following personal data may be gathered and processed by Aurora Foundation: full name, date of birth, e-mail, nationality, country of residence. All personal data is only collected when provided to Aurora Foundation by filling in forms available on the Website or specifying the data in correspondence. Please note that if you contact Aurora Foundation by post or e-mail, records of these communications may be kept.

How is your personal data used?
Aurora Foundation may process your personal data
(a) to ascertain your identity before entering into agreements regarding materials submitted to the Website;
(b) to carry out contractual obligations arising from its agreements with you, including the Terms;
(c) to contact you regarding submissions you have made, including any materials you provide;
(d) to indicate you as an author or originator of the materials submitted; 
(e) to facilitate your participation in charity events launched by Aurora Foundation;
(f) to consider your requests;
(g) to provide you with a personalised browsing experience when using the Website;
(h) to send you recent newsletters to which you have subscribed and to inform you about our activities.
 
Aurora Foundation will not use your personal data for any purposes inconsistent with the purposes above or not permitted by law. Unless otherwise expressly stated by you, it is assumed that by submitting content to the Website, including words of support or any other materials, you confirm that you agree with subsequent disclosure of your full name and country of residence by publication of this data on the Website, as well as on any other online platforms and printed publications. 
 
What means are employed to secure you data?
We have put in place technical and organisational security measures to prevent the loss of or unauthorised access to your personal data. While your personal data is stored in secured databases that are hosted with the use of technical facilities controlled by Aurora Foundation and its trusted Partners, security of this data is protected by appropriate authentication mechanisms, firewalls and encryption tools (protocols). 
 
Aurora Foundation assumes responsibility for its Partners’ compliance with the requirements introduced by this Privacy Policy. However, attention should be paid to the fact that some Partners may be located in countries other than the Republic of Armenia and other than in the European Economic Area. Moreover, your personal data may be transferred to jurisdictions which may not provide the same level of data protection as those countries or the country of your residence. In such a case the respective Partners may be governed by local regulations on personal data protection, and thus their privacy practices may in some ways differ from those adopted by Aurora Foundation. Nevertheless, Aurora Foundation will take all necessary steps to ensure that your privacy rights continue to be protected at least in line with this Privacy Policy.
 
Whilst Aurora Foundation uses its best efforts to ensure the security of your personal data, please be aware that the security of information transmitted over the Internet cannot be guaranteed. Accordingly, any transfer of personal data over the Internet, including during submission of such information to the Website, is done at your own risk.
 
Are your data disclosed to third parties?
Your personal data will not be disclosed or transferred to any third party, subject to the following exceptions: 
(a) personal data is transferred to the Partners for the purpose of its processing on behalf of Aurora Foundation;
(b) personal data may be transferred to a third party in connection with the assignment of a contract;
(c) personal data may be transferred to a third party as part of a sale of assets or business restructuring;
(d) personal data may have to be disclosed under applicable law for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or requested of Aurora Foundation in the exercise of official authority;
(e) personal data may be required to be disclosed for the protection of state and public security;
(f) the disclosure of personal data may be otherwise required or permitted by applicable law. 
 
Whatever the reasons for the disclosure of your personal data may be, Aurora Foundation will take all reasonable steps with the aim of ensuring that your privacy rights continue to be protected.  
 
What rights do you have with respect to your personal data?
You have the right to obtain at any time confirmation as to whether or not personal data relating to you is being processed. Where such personal data is being processed, you may also be provided with information on the content of such personal data, the recipients to whom the personal data have been disclosed, and other information relating to the terms of your personal data processing. You also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data on legitimate compelling grounds except when it is collected in order to comply with a legal obligation, or is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party.
